| In what was to be a common experience, this was a gang of British security personnel traveling to Kabul to protect the British ambassador, who recognized Sir Ben and asked for a photograph. Sir Ben - ever gracious to these requests - sits in the white shirt, with Chip taking the photo. | |

At the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, we were treated to a dinner
lecture by Dr. Ashraf Ghani, former Minister of Finance for Afghanistan and
now Chancellor of Kabul University. A passionate, persuasive advocate for
his country, he blew us away with his analysis of Afghanistan's hurdles and
potential, along with the complex humanitarian situation. Umm, I sort of stole this picture. Just putting my tax dollars to work... |
